A story of a man's search for self-respect, pride and family told with passion, empathy and humor.

June 1996 to June 1997 - a crisis year in Joe Idelman's life. A hero to his computer guru daughter, this advertising mogul has always turned off his hippy son, and is beginning to do the same to his adored wife, a growing skeptic.
Others join these critics, including a mysterious female who assaults with phone and fax, and Joe's long time, increasingly cynical business partner. It's a year of public glory, riches, and trips from his Los Angeles mansion to New York City and to the Amazon, but one of private insults, infidelity and worse.

About the Author
The author is familiar with many of the locations in My Great Life as he grew up, first in Peru, and then in a small village in New York. After college he moved to Los Angeles where he taught in South Central and graduated from Loyola Law School. For the last thirty years he has been a trial lawyer in New York.
Six years ago, he summoned up the courage to burst out of the closet and admit he's a severe gasholic who's compelled to drive his car daily and fly frequently to far away places. He hopes concerned readers will help him control his addiction to protect our planet and future generations.
